Methodology
The one rule of this index: a number is only worth publishing if you can say where it came from and when it was true.
Where prices come from
Each entry uses the strongest available evidence, in this order — the price note on every page states which class the number belongs to, and full source records stay on file:
- Manufacturer retail price — an official store or published price list (e.g. Unitree's web store).
- Verified distributor and reseller quotes — cross-checked against at least one more channel when possible; when channels diverge, we publish the range and say so.
- Documented estimates — for robots that are not on sale (Tesla Optimus, Boston Dynamics Atlas), we record the manufacturer's stated target or the analyst consensus, and the row is labeled Not sold yet. An estimate is never presented as an offer.
What the statuses mean
- For sale — you can order it today at the listed price.
- Pre-order — the maker takes deposits at a published price.
- Enterprise only — sold, but only B2B, usually with negotiated pricing; we list the documented range.
- Not sold yet — no public sales channel; the listed number is a target or estimate, explained in the price note.
Prices exclude
Import duties, freight, integration and accessories, unless noted. Industrial-arm prices are for the arm itself — a deployed cell typically costs 2–3× the arm once grippers, safety and integration are added.
Update cadence
The dataset (30 robots) is reviewed monthly and on major announcements. The current revision is 2026-08. Corrections are welcome — seeabout & contact.
