Published reviewThe News & Observer, via AOL (Pho 919 owner) · Servi delivering pho and bussing at a Vietnamese restaurant in North Carolina

The owner says the $15,000-plus robot is worthwhile if it delivers more dishes and takes strain off staff; servers report kids love it. Owners quoted stress the robots elevate rather than eliminate jobs, and staff were still learning its capabilities.

  • Less physical strain on staff
  • 12-hour battery, bus tub for clearing
  • Guest and kid appeal
  • $15,000-plus upfront cost
  • Staff still learning what it can do

Published reviewUniversity of Houston Magazine (Hilton College teaching restaurant) · Servi as food runner and busser in a university teaching restaurant

Staff reaction was described as overwhelmingly positive after initial job-loss worries, with servers spending more time in the dining room and sales up in the year after deployment. Operators note the robot struggles with floor bumps, steps and frequently rearranged tables and cannot yet navigate fully independently.

  • Servers freed for guest-facing work
  • Sales rose after deployment; novelty draws guests
  • Staff acceptance after initial concerns
  • Trouble with floor bumps and steps
  • Frequent table rearrangement disrupts navigation
  • Limited independent navigation at time of writing

Published reviewCulinary Services Group (chef manager, senior-living dining) · pilot of Servi in a senior-living dining room in Baltimore

The chef manager called the robot extremely helpful and a talking point for residents, cutting servers' kitchen trips so they could spend more time in the dining room. The operator's writeup estimates it could cover up to two part-time aide roles and ran about 13 hours a day without recharging, but stresses it only fits delivery roles, not cooking or prep.

  • Cuts repetitive kitchen-to-table trips
  • About 13 hours per charge in practice
  • Residents responded warmly
  • Only suits dining-room delivery, not kitchen work
  • Needs a deliberate deployment plan to pay off
