The user found the CR5 TCP link only partially working: reading position and setting acceleration worked, but move commands failed and disconnected with an enable error, with commands routed to the wrong IP. He reported a week later that a robot firmware update fixed it.
They chose a used CR5 as a more economical option than a new arm for a light-duty client job, and walk through record-and-playback, drag mode and trajectory recording; they say they are still working on getting it running under ROS, which they see as key to broader use.
