Unitree announced the Dex5-S on its official account on September 21, 2026: a human-scale, 22-DoF five-finger hand with every joint motor-driven and backdrivable, from RMB 39,900 (about $6,500) per hand before tax and shipping; a bimanual pair starts near RMB 80,000 (about $13,000), also excluding controllers, mounts, tax and integration. Unitree's own store had not listed a dedicated product page as of this writing, so this is a manufacturer-announced launch price, not yet a live checkout price. It replaces the 20-DoF Dex5-1, which US resellers price at roughly $24,000-29,000 per hand — a large cut for a newer, fully actuated hand.
