Weave Robotics undercuts 1X NEO: Isaac 1 launches at $7,999, no legs required
A second home humanoid now has an actual price tag, and it undercuts the first one badly. Weave Robotics is taking orders for Isaac 1 at $7,999 outright, or $449 a month, with deliveries promised for fall 2026.
The engineering trick behind that price is visible immediately: Isaac 1 has no legs. It rides on a wheeled base with a torso that telescopes from about 3 feet to 5’9”, trading the ability to climb stairs for a much simpler (and cheaper) drivetrain. Two arms with parallel grippers handle the actual chore list — folding laundry, tidying rooms, making beds — the same category of tasks 1X pitches for NEO.
That comparison is the story. NEO’s Early Access tier is $20,000 (or $499/month) with priority delivery, positioning it as the premium option. Isaac 1 arrives at roughly 40% of that upfront price and a slightly lower subscription, aimed at the same fall-2026 delivery window. Neither company has shipped a unit yet — both prices are pre-order commitments, not receipts — but for the first time buyers get to weigh a legged design against a wheeled one at a real price difference, not just a spec-sheet difference.
Two things worth watching before writing a deposit check. First, “fall 2026” is a promise from a company that has not delivered a home robot before; treat it as a target date, not a guarantee. Second, a wheeled base is a real capability tradeoff, not just a cost-saving gimmick — stairs, thresholds and uneven floors are where it will show.
