GXO expands Digit to more sites — while admitting it has no humanoid ROI yet

Agility Robotics and logistics operator GXO announced on October 26 that they will deploy Agility Digit at additional e-commerce fulfillment sites, adding to the Georgia site where Digit has worked since late 2023. Trade coverage reports Digit 4 deployments starting in early 2027, with GXO planning to move to Digit v5 once it is commercially available.

What was not disclosed

Neither company gave a unit count, contract value or robots-as-a-service rate. GXO did not say what it is investing or when it expects a return. In fact, GXO’s CEO said on the August earnings call that the company has “not achieved ROI on humanoids yet.” The expansion is real, but it is a bet on the economics improving, not proof that they already work.

What the price picture looks like

Digit still has no sticker price. The only hard numbers remain the illustrative unit economics in Agility’s own SEC Form S-4, covered in our earlier note:

Those figures describe Digit v5. The shipping Digit v4 is the only version anyone can contract for today, and v5 early access is slated for the first half of 2027.

Our read

Against a labor benchmark of roughly $30 an hour, a ~$100,000-a-year robot needs to replace a lot of paid hours before it breaks even, and a customer that has publicly said it isn’t there yet is a useful data point. Repeat-site expansion is the strongest commercial signal a humanoid vendor has right now, but it is not a price. We keep Digit listed as enterprise-only with a modelled range, and we have not changed any dataset values today. Compare it with other warehouse and enterprise humanoids in our humanoid price guide, and see Agility’s company page for the full lineup.
