Unitree R1 — $4,900–5,900

The cheapest full humanoid on open sale anywhere, and the reason every other price on this page suddenly needs justifying. The R1 stands 121 cm, weighs 25 kg, and carries 26 degrees of freedom — more joints than the larger G1. Official retail is $5,900 for the standard R1 and $4,900 for the R1 AIR, and Unitree sells it globally, including — remarkably — on AliExpress.

Who it’s for: developers, labs, content creators, and anyone who wants to learn legged humanoids without committing lab-budget money. The catch: roughly an hour of battery, a small payload, and the usual reality that a $5,900 robot ships as a platform, not an employee. EDU versions with better support cost more. Unitree G1 — $13,500 base, EDU up to $73,900

The G1 is the de facto reference humanoid of the industry — 132 cm, 35 kg, 23 DoF in the base configuration, about two hours of battery. Unitree’s own store lists the base model at $13,500, which is the number everyone quotes. What fewer people quote: the EDU configurations that research groups actually buy run $43,900–73,900 through US resellers, across a dozen variants with different hands, compute, and support tiers.

Who it’s for: serious research and development work where the R1’s size and payload are limiting. The catch is exactly that spread — the sticker price and the working-configuration price differ by a factor of three to five, so budget for the variant you need, not the one in the headline.

Unitree H1 — $90,000 list, and a line in transition

The H1 is Unitree’s full-size machine: 180 cm, 47 kg, a 19-DoF frame built for locomotion research. The store lists it at $90,000 with a telling “contact us for real price” note; resellers quote $100k–129k in practice. The H1-2 variant with hands sold for $148,235 before being delisted in 2026 as the newer H2 — announced at $29,900 — replaces the line.

Who it’s for: institutions that need full human height and mass today. The catch: buying a platform mid-generational-handover is rarely great value. If your timeline allows, the H2’s arrival is a reason to wait or negotiate.

EngineAI PM01 — ~$12,000

EngineAI’s PM01 is the quiet value pick in the middle of the market: 138 cm, 40 kg, 24 DoF, officially retailing at 88,000 CNY (roughly $12,000) for the business and education versions. It became famous for its natural, straight-legged walking gait — a genuinely hard control problem most competitors dodge.

Who it’s for: education and commercial demo buyers who want G1-class hardware at a lower entry point. The catch: a thinner overseas reseller and support network than Unitree’s, which matters the first time something breaks.

Booster T1 — ~$22,000 base, $29,800–50,925 in the US

The Booster T1 is a 118 cm, 30 kg, 23-DoF developer platform with an open-source stack and a RoboCup 2025 championship to its name — evidence of real robustness, since RoboCup robots fall over constantly and are expected to get up. Base price in China is around $22,000; US resellers run $29,800 for the Basic and about $50,925 for the Standard with grippers, and EU pricing starts from €39,000 including tax.

Who it’s for: developer teams that want a durable, hackable biped with genuine community support. The catch: the same China-vs-imported price spread as everyone else — the US Standard configuration costs more than twice the Chinese base price.

Fourier GR-3 — from ~$27,500, some listings at $80,000

Fourier’s GR-3 is the odd one out: a 165 cm, 71 kg “Care-Bot” with 55 degrees of freedom, aimed at homes and assisted-living facilities rather than factories, in production since its CES 2026 debut. Channel pricing diverges sharply: distributors list it from about $27,500 with final pricing on request, while other catalog listings cite $80,000.

Who it’s for: healthcare and eldercare pilots, and buyers who want a soft-touch interaction robot rather than an industrial biped. The catch is that pricing spread — when two channels disagree by a factor of three, “final pricing on request” is doing a lot of work. Get a written quote for your exact configuration.

Agibot A2 — $44,560 to $190,000

Agibot (Zhiyuan Robotics) is one of the few makers with proven scale: 10,000 robots produced by March 2026. The A2 Lite sells for $44,560 in Agibot’s own store — a price we verified in July 2026 — while the full bipedal A2 runs $100k–190k depending on configuration. The robot stands 169 cm.

Who it’s for: commercial deployments that need a full-size humanoid from a manufacturer that demonstrably ships in volume. The catch: the Lite and the full A2 are very different machines at very different prices, and the configuration ladder between $44,560 and $190,000 is steep.

Galbot G1 — ~$87,000–96,000

Not to be confused with Unitree’s G1, the Galbot G1 is a wheeled humanoid — 173 cm, 47 DoF, and a claimed ten hours of battery, which is what dropping the legs buys you. The 630,000 CNY ($87k) model sold out on JD.com after the 2026 Spring Festival Gala; pharmacy deployments run about 700,000 CNY ($96k). Price varies heavily with configuration and service.

Who it’s for: retail, pharmacy, and logistics settings with flat floors, where uptime matters more than stairs. The catch: demand has outrun supply on the consumer channel, and the quoted prices bundle service terms that vary deal by deal.

PNDbotics Adam — $100,000–120,000

Adam is a research-grade full-size humanoid: 167 cm, 62 kg, 41 DoF, modular quasi-direct-drive actuators delivering up to 360 N·m, and an open-source SDK. Distributor catalogs price the Adam SP at $100,000 and the Adam Lite at $120,000, with final pricing on request.

Who it’s for: labs that need serious actuator performance and want to modify the hardware. The catch: at this price you are firmly in negotiated-quote territory, and the “Lite” costing more than the SP in distributor listings tells you the catalog labels and the configurations don’t map the way you’d guess. Confirm specs line by line.

Pre-orders: real, but read the terms

A pre-order is a genuine sales channel — money changes hands, delivery terms exist — but you are buying a promise, and the terms define how firm that promise is.

1X NEO — $20,000 or $499/month. The most credible home-humanoid pre-order to date. Terms as of 2026-08: $20,000 for Early Access with a $200 deposit, US-only deliveries in 2026, or a $499/month subscription with later delivery; international expansion is slated from 2027. Two things to understand before reserving. First, NEO learns household tasks partly via teleoperation — a human operator can see through the robot when it handles tasks it hasn’t mastered, which is both how it improves and a privacy consideration to weigh honestly. Second, “Early Access” means what it says: you are enrolling in the shakedown phase of a brand-new product category.

Weave Isaac 1 — $7,999 or $449/month. The budget path to a home humanoid, with deliveries promised for fall 2026. The price is honest about its engineering: Isaac rolls on a wheeled base with a height-adjustable torso (91–175 cm) rather than walking on legs — which is precisely how it undercuts bipedal home humanoids, and also why it won’t climb your stairs. Eight hours of battery is a genuine advantage over every biped on this page.

What “pre-order” really means in this market: your deposit buys a place in line, not a delivery date you can enforce. Robotics ship dates slip routinely. Check the refund terms on the deposit, assume the quoted quarter is optimistic, and never pre-order with money you need back on schedule.

Not for sale, no matter what the headlines say

This is the section that saves you from the most expensive category of confusion: target prices reported as sticker prices.

Tesla Optimus. No MSRP, no public sales, no pre-orders, no waitlist as of mid-2026. The $20k–30k figure Musk repeats is a long-term at-scale target; current unit cost is estimated at $50k–100k. Gen 3 production is expected at Fremont later in 2026, and analyst consensus puts consumer sales at 2028–2029. Any listing offering you an Optimus today is selling something else.

Boston Dynamics Atlas. Not publicly sold and carries no MSRP — analyst estimates run roughly $130k–320k, some as high as ~$420k. The production electric Atlas debuted at CES 2026, and the entire 2026 output is already contracted to Hyundai’s Metaplant and Google DeepMind. Hyundai targets 30,000 units a year by 2028; until then, Atlas is spoken for.

Enterprise-only programs. A step less closed, but still no checkout button. UBTech’s Walker S2 has no public list price — estimates run $68k–120k per unit at small volumes (early adopters around $90k, some sources up to $160k), and mass production is underway against an order book over 800 million CNY. Agility’s Digit is sold mostly as robots-as-a-service — illustratively $8,500/month (about $100k/year) per the June 2026 investor deck, or $30/hour, with direct purchase around $150k including integration support. Kepler’s K2 Forerunner has a stated target retail range of $20k–30k but no open price list; sales are corporate. The Fourier GR-2 is estimated at $150,000+ with enterprise sales only. These are real programs shipping real robots — but the numbers attached to them are estimates, service rates, and targets, not prices you can pay.

How to read a quoted number, in one sentence: if you cannot find a channel that accepts payment at that number, it is not a price — it is a press release.

How to actually buy from a Chinese maker

Eight of the eleven buyable humanoids above are Chinese, so for most buyers “how do I buy a humanoid” means “how do I buy from China.” The practical routes:

Official stores. Unitree, Agibot, and EngineAI all operate direct channels; Unitree even lists the R1 on AliExpress, and Galbot sells through JD.com. This gets you the honest Chinese retail price, but international shipping, warranty logistics, and after-sales support are on you.

Western resellers. Authorized distributors in the US and EU handle import, customs, and local warranty — and charge for it. The spread is consistent across our index: the Booster T1 goes from ~$22,000 in China to $29,800–50,925 through US resellers; the G1 base is $13,500 but EDU configurations land at $43,900–73,900. Roughly, expect the imported, supported version of a Chinese robot to cost 1.3–2× the domestic figure.

EDU and enterprise versions. The suffix matters. EDU variants bundle SDK access, documentation, and support that the consumer version omits — and for research work you usually need them, which is why the “real” price of a G1 for a lab is a multiple of the headline.

What import actually adds. Freight for a 25–70 kg robot with lithium batteries (dangerous-goods rules apply), customs duties that vary by country and classification, and the risk of buying through a middleman you cannot audit. This is a solvable logistics problem, but it is a real one.

Red flags when shopping

The gap between hype prices and real prices creates room for bad listings. Watch for:

Too-good-to-be-true numbers. A “$12,000 Unitree B2” figure has floated around for a while; no reseller confirms it — actual B2 listings run about $76,900 from US resellers. Any humanoid offered dramatically below the ranges in this guide is a misprint, a scam, or a different product than you think.

Prices for robots that have no prices. If a marketplace lists an Optimus, a Figure 03, or an Atlas with a buy button, you already know everything you need to about that marketplace.

No inspection, no escrow. Buying a five-figure robot from an unverified seller without pre-shipment inspection or payment protection is how deposits disappear. Insist on verifiable channels: manufacturer stores, authorized resellers, or a sourcing agent who inspects before funds release.

Quotes that dodge the configuration. Half the robots in this guide have price ranges spanning 2–4× depending on configuration. A quote that names a price but not the exact variant, hand hardware, compute, and support tier is not a quote — it is bait.
